Jeffery Broussard offers lessons to individual students and groups. Although Jeffery primarily plays Single-note (Cajun) accordions and Triple-row Accordions, he also plays and teaches all of the other instruments in the band: fiddle, drums, guitar, bass guitar, and rubboard. Jeffery has taught many of the younger generation of zydeco musicians who are now playing across the country, as well as hobbyists who play for the love of playing.
Jeffery has been a staff instructor at the Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week in Ville Platte, Louisiana, which is the flagship program of Louisiana Folk Roots. He has also taught at the Augusta Heritage Center’s Cajun/Creole Week in West Virginia.
If you’re traveling to Louisiana and would like to set up lessons with Jeffery, contact us and if he’s not out on the road, we’ll set it up for you.
If you are interested in taking lessons with Jeffery while he is on the road, check the schedule. If you see that the band will be in your area, contact us ahead of time and we can try to arrange for lessons in between performances.
Groups: If you are interested in arranging a group lesson, please contact us and we can arrange for a workshop in your area. We know that there are active Cajun/Zydeco music communities through the United States. Jeffery and other members of the band are available to teach workshop-style group lessons when they’re on the road. Often there are weeknights in between performances, or weekend days before an evening performance, when this can be arranged. It’s a fun way to learn some great music, meet the band, maybe even share some gumbo and have a jam session after the lessons wrap up.
